Making a Difference in the World

9/7/2017

When I think of how I would describe the world, I don’t think of positive things. These are some words I would use: rude, inconsiderate, selfish, disrespectful.  How WOULD you describe the world and how people act?  How do you WANT to describe the world? Maybe kind, considerate, courageous, humble?  To have a kind world, you must make a difference.  Making a difference starts with the small stuff.  You can make a difference just by smiling and saying hello to people.  By doing this, you can turn someone’s day around. They might be depressed, sad, or just having a bad day. When you do the smallest thing, it can spread throughout and your community.

If we take a just a moment to think of others before ourselves and do something kind to help them out, then I guarantee that it will change the community and then the world.

“Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver.” - Barbara De Angelis

There are going to be people who will reject the kindness that you have. But don’t let that stop you. It will take time for people to accept the change and warm up to you.

In the book of John in the Bible, we are instructed, “This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.” God give us unconditional love; this means that He loves us no matter how we act or what we do. So, we need to have the same love for everyone else.  I know it will be hard because I am still having trouble with it. Finally, I challenge you to love one another unconditionally, despite our flaws and to think about others before yourself.

Will you help make a difference in this world?
