School Age
To enter our pre-kindergarten (K4) program, your child must be 4-years-old by September 30th. If you are applying for kindergarten (K5), your child must be 5-years-old by September 30th of the school year for which you are applying.
Testing
All 5-year-old Kindergarten students will undergo a reading readiness assessment called Search and Teach. Developmental testing for young students may also be required. English and Math testing is required for all incoming 7th-12th grade students. The cost for this testing is included in the application fee.
Interview
Once the school receives all the application forms, an interview will be scheduled as openings become available. The purpose of the interview is to ensure that:
a) at least one parent expresses a clear testimony of Christian faith and is known and active in a Biblically-based local Christian church;
b) the parents desire a Christian education for their child; and
c) family beliefs and practices are consistent with the standards, statement of faith, and values of the school.
Students entering 7th-12th grades will also be interviewed prior to admission and must be able to articulate and demonstrate faith in Jesus Christ.
Acceptance
You will be notified by email upon acceptance of your child(ren) with detailed instructions for completing the online enrollment packet. Note: submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance to Summit and the application fee is non-refundable.
Financial Contract
The Financial Contract is completed as part of the online enrollment packet. Once the online enrollment packet is completed and submitted, your child is officially enrolled and a class space is secured.
Additional Documentation Required
Virginia School Entrance Health Form (dated within one year of the first day the student begins school)
Up-to-date Immunization Record (if not included on the Virginia Health Form)
Original Birth Certificate and Health Insurance Card (to be copied for the student’s record)
Applicants for admission are considered without regard to sex, race, national or ethnic origin.
